Rescue Programs

Ron Gagliardo, Curator of Tropical Collections at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Dr. Joe Mendelson, Curator of Reptiles and Amphibians at Zoo Atlanta are heading up this institutional collaboration to save amphibians. Rescue programs are focused on practical projects that make a difference for amphibians both in Latin America and the southeastern United States.

  Panama is under siege by the Chytrid Fungus. Efforts are helping to create assurance colonies of several critically threatened species in danger of being wiped out. View Details
  Costa Rica contains the highest diversity per area of amphibians. The Atlanta collaboration assists the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center with preservation of several species. View Details
